Today’s piece started out much more minimally. Here it is, with the explanation to follow below.

The original idea was to just do a pair of eyeballs on a white background, as silent commentary on the inordinate amounts of snow the Mid-Atlantic and southern New England have received this season. But, as I worked on it, one thing led to another, and next thing I knew, I had this sort-of-self-portrait.
